Baltimore Ravens Orlando Brown eye injury and back injury treatment

orlando-brown-eye-injuryYou may remember Orland Brown for his infamous eye injury. It happened during the 1999 season when a referee threw a penalty flag that hit him in the eye. There was a fear he would never play football again, so he settled his eye injury with the NFL.

He did come back to play in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens, but now Orlando Brown is out for the season due to back injuries that he suffered in an automobile accident on November 19, 2005.

There is no word on the specific injury to the man they call Zeus, but here are the most common back injuries after an car accident:

  • Whiplash: This occurs when a person’s head is moved forward with tremendous force and literally rips the muscles and tendons in their necks.
  • Herniated disc: This occurs when a person’s spinal column is affected by trauma. The spongy tissue in the backbone slips out.
  • Back sprain: This occurs when a persons back is severely twisted by trauma.

If you are in a car accident you should be checked out by a doctor before beginning any self treatment. There are many injuries that may not present themselves without additional diagnostics.
